These terms are a starting draft. They are not a substitute for a lawyer-drafted engagement letter.
Restore the Right is a private organization. It is not the Department of Justice, the Office of the Pardon Attorney, ATF, FBI, or any state licensing bureau. Using this site does not file anything with the United States.
Section 925(c) relief is discretionary. Completing intake, paying a fee, or submitting a polished packet does not create a right to approval.
Website content is general information. An attorney-client relationship exists only after a written engagement with a licensed lawyer covering a defined jurisdiction and scope. If the operator is not a lawyer, the service is limited to clerical organization of the client’s own information and must not select legal strategies or interpret the client’s rights beyond published government instructions.
18 U.S.C. § 922(g) remains in force during this process. Filing an application does not stay the prohibition. Unlawful possession is a federal felony.
Federal relief does not displace state or tribal firearm restrictions. You are responsible for knowing the law of every jurisdiction in which you possess or would possess a firearm.
You certify that information you submit is complete and truthful. False statements on the official application are federal crimes. We may withdraw if we learn the file is incomplete or untrue.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for denied applications, missed filing windows, clerk delays, DOJ processing times, publication of a grant, or downstream NICS or state-permit decisions. Cap damages at the fees paid for the engagement.
